A family business that grew out of trust

GlobalPost.ua is not just a logistics platform. It is a family business that my wife and I created from scratch, relying on our own values ​​and each other.

The ideological inspiration for the creation of the company was my wife Nataliya Gorbunova. She was the first to support me in the most difficult period and has been an indispensable part of our team from the very beginning.

Natalia is responsible for finances and analytics – and for over 15 years we have been developing GlobalPost together as a life’s work. This is our common path, based on trust, support and the desire to create a service that we could be proud of.

How it all began

The story of GlobalPost.ua began in 2009, during the crisis. I was unemployed, with experience in trade — from sales representative to regional manager — and a pregnant wife. There was no choice, and I decided to try my own business.

The main lesson I learned back then: service is a promise. And trust is the currency that determines how much this promise is worth.

From the first client to an international platform

We started small: local deliveries, the first regular clients, “word of mouth”.

In 2011, we officially registered GlobalPost. From the very beginning, we worked with complex cargo in eastern Ukraine that required special attention. And in 2015, we signed our first contract with an international carrier. That’s how we plunged into e-commerce and international logistics.

We never aspired to become “Nova Poshta No. 2”. Instead, we created a different model — service-oriented, expert, individual.

We are not for everyone. We are for those who need a non-standard solution

Everyone has classic delivery. But to solve a case where you need to:

• make a special box for a sculpture
• conduct negotiations and payment on behalf of the client, book a warehouse in another country or find a customs broker in Gabon (this was another case)
• connect 3–4 countries and several carriers

— this is our profile. We work “turnkey” and are not afraid to take on challenges that others consider “too difficult.”

Our service is not just delivery

We do not just transport. We:

• help with documents, invoices, certificates
• explain customs rules and DDP nuances
• consult for free, even if we understand that it would be more profitable for the client to contact another service

I often answer calls in the call center myself – this allows me to better understand our clients’ requests. Because we build business not on deception, but on respect for people.

A team that is not afraid of “star cases”

After each difficult case, we get together and discuss how to do it better.

We are a small team, but very efficient because:

• we delegate routine tasks to contractors
• we automate processes
• we invest in an IT system for order management

We also have managers who handle exclusively non-standard orders — these “immortals” are not afraid of any challenges.

We grow because of you

We survived in 2009, rebooted in 2014, and in March 2022, we were among the first to resume international shipping after a full-scale invasion.

We continue to grow because our clients challenge us every day: shipping biomaterials to Australia, transporting dry ice farms, shipping yogurt to Portugal.
