Volumetric weight of shipments
Measurement of actual or volumetric weight of cargo
Shipment weight can be measured by two parameters: actual weight (with packaging) or volumetric weight (with packaging), depending on which parameter is greater. For bulky shipments with low weight, the volumetric weight parameter is used. In order to determine the volumetric weight, it is necessary to measure in centimeters the three overall (maximum) dimensions of the cargo in the package and use the following formula:
- (length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm)) / 5000 = volumetric weight (kg)
