How to obtain FDA approval for import into the United States

Step 1

All companies that want to import food products into the USA must have a unique number in the international D&B system, namely a DUNS Number. This number is issued only once.

Step 2

After receiving the DUNS number, you can contact the registrar in the USA, which helps with registration in the FDA as an authorized importer and guides you through all stages of this process. This service is paid and, as of May 14, 2024, costs USD 950.00 per year.

This price includes registration of 3 products from one manufacturer (for example, three types of packaging or SKUs, etc.). Each additional registration during the year will cost only USD 20.00.
